July and August Hispanic events

Hispanic London

Hola chic@s,

What a great summer we are having in London. It looks like we are enjoying our lessons in our school in Valencia, which by the way we have incredible pictures of the groups that went last week.

Again another month with great events related with Hispanic culture:

Che Malambo (18-22th July in Peacock theatre):

For the first time in the UK, after wildly successful performances across North America and Europe, the all-male Argentinian percussive dance and music sensation Che Malambo brings the power, poise and posturing of the gaucho cowboys to the Peacock stage.

The hallmark of Malambo is zapeteo, the fast-paced footwork inspired by the rhythm of galloping horses from the Argentinian Pampa. Malambo also features the drumming of traditional Argentinian bombos and whirling boleadoras.

You can see a trailer of the performance in below link:

Hola London (21st July in O2 arena):

Last year was the first time that festival took place in London and I was lucky to be a part of it. In one day you can enjoy three or four of the best artists in Latin-America plus enjoy some workshops and food outside the arena.

This year, the arena will host performances from:

Colombian superstar Carlos Vives; maybe you do not him but he is very well-known in Spain and America for his music for many years, he became again very famous singing “La Bicicleta” alongside Shakira (check video). Also performs the godfather of salsa Rubén Blades with Roberto Delgado Salsa Big Band; Piso 21 best new artist nominees at the Latin Grammys; and Cuban bandleader Descemer Bueno the man behind Bailando and a string of other mega-hits.

But not only you can enjoy the concerts inside the arena, this year will also be a range of activities and performances in the outside area, with Jesus Cutiño & Son de Cuba, showcasing their infectious take on traditional Cuban music, and Cali style salsa band Kalison Orquesta performing in the afternoon and DJ Johnny G playing for the salseros. At the same time, you will be able to enjoy Latin American Street Food from Comida Fest.

Mexican food, drink and music festival (4th August in Acklam Village Market):

If you would like to experience a Mexican Festival, that could be the one. And when you are thinking about a Mexican festival what do you expect? TEQUILA I guess. So in the festival would be more than different 30 Tequilas to enjoy.

Upon arrival your Mexican adventure will commence and you will be handed a complimentary shot (Tequila not water!) along with your Festival bible, which will guide you through your Mexican experience including traditional drinks, food and music!
And what do you need after you had some Tequilas? MARIACHIS and also some good food. Everything you can find in this festival. And at the same time there would be performances.
