Pain and Glory
Lights, camera, action! This Sunday 11th August do not miss the opportunity to attend an exclusive preview of Pedro Almodóvar’s new film, Pain and Glory, starring Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz. The film is getting an official release on 23rd August – but you can be the first to see it this weekend at Stratford East Picturehouse.
Pain and Glory “follows the story of a director reflecting on the choices he’s made in life as past and present come crashing down around him”. It is a deeply personal drama that received much appraisal at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and earned Antonio Banderas ‘Best Actor’ for his touching performance.
Almodóvar’s new film is a late-life masterpiece that will certainly make you think as the beloved Spanish director reflects on his career. I absolutely loved the film when I saw it in Spain a few months ago, and I truly cannot think of a better way to practice your listening, learn new Spanish vocabulary and improve your cultural knowledge.
