1932 was the year for Picasso, his most creative and erotic period.

Looking at the work he created during this year, we see that he clearly proved his ambition in this period of his career: he wanted to create as much work as possible to show he was the best artist alive.

That year, along with the desire to shine amongst his coetaneous like Matisse, Picasso developed his impulse for the sexual context in his art, based on his lover of the time, Marie-Thérese Walter, who became his muse in the most daring paintings.

In collaboration with Musée national Picasso-Paris, Tate Modern is presenting for the very first time a solo exhibition of Pablo Picasso where you can enjoy viewing some of the artist greatest work with a collection of more than 100 paintings (including portraits of some of his family members), drawings, sculptures and, not less interesting, a personal diary of some family photographs. One of his most representative and important works of this productive year is El sueño (The dream), which is an example of this intimate work he created inspired by Marie-Thérese. An interesting fact about this painting: after being accidentally and badly damaged by his owner at the time, it was sold in 2013 for the value of $155 million.
