London Spanish Film Festival

Hispanic London

¡¡Hola!!

¿Te gusta el cine? ¿Aprendes español? If you answer YES, you have to read this blog.

For the 14th time, London Spanish Festival will take place at the end of September (26th to 30th September). This festival started just casting one or two films but as a cause of many Spanish speakers living in London and the increase of Spanish language and cinema popularity, this year will cast nine.

The festival celebrates the creativity and film industry of which Spain is so rich. With a program composed of nine feature films, three documentaries and three shorts, they intend to offer you the opportunity to enjoy empowering comedies, complex dramas, cinematographic poetry and informative documentaries.

Last year some teachers and I went there and we had a great time, not only did we enjoy a new Spanish movie (La niebla y la doncella) but we also had the chance to listen the main actor presenting and talking about the movie and how they film it.

Also this year some actors and filmmakers will come to present their work. Previous famous directors and actors, who came to the Festival, were:

Luis Tosar from the movie Celda 211 that we showed in our cinema nights.

Sergi López from Pan´s Labyrinth, also shown in our cinema nights.

Fernado Trueba, director who won an Oscar with the movie Belle Epoque.

This year will come Antonio de la Torre who won one Goya award. Check the program to see who and when will come.

If you are interested in Spanish culture and different languages spoken in Spain, they also have a Catalan and Basque window.

So, check the programme below and join with other Vamos students this amazing festival:
