“El discurso del rey”

El rey Felipe VI de España pronunció su discurso anual de Navidad el 24 de diciembre. El discurso estuvo dedicado en gran parte a los desafíos que enfrentan los jóvenes del país: “Tenéis talento, creéis en la paz, estáis abiertos al mundo porque sois y os sentís europeos, sois solidarios, estáis comprometidos con las causas sociales, con la lucha contra el cambio climático y la defensa del medio ambiente”, dijo el monarca en su discurso. El rey también apeló a la unidad y la convivencia en España en tiempos de alta tensión en la región de Cataluña, que todavía se encuentra en mitad de una campaña por la independencia.

King Felipe VI of Spain delivered his annual Christmas message on December 24. The speech was dedicated in large part to the challenges facing the country’s young people: “You have talent, you believe in peace, you are open to the world because you are, and you feel, European, you are humanitarian, you are committed to social causes, to the fight against climate change and the defence of the environment”, the monarch said in his address. The king also called for peaceful coexistence in Spain at a time of continuing tensions in the region of Catalonia, which is still in the midst of an independence drive.
