Juan Miguel Palacios: Wounded

Juan Miguel Palacios, a Spanish artist living in New York launches his first solo exhibition at Lazarides (central London) from 23rd June to 22nd August. Lazarides is famous for showing works from artists whose style is ‘outside the conventional, contemporary art market’. The gallery welcomes Juan Miguel Palacios’ ‘WOUNDED’ exhibition, which features a wide range of hidden emotions that lie behind a happy face while actually revealing the true feelings beneath the façade. Spanish Tapas Tour 12- 18 June

From 12 – 18 June the Spanish Chamber of Commerce is organising a Spanish Tapas Tour together with some of the most famous Spanish restaurants in the city. This would be a good opportunity to taste the best flavours of the Spanish gastronomy. They do something similar every year in Barcelona and when I was living there I never missed it. Festival of Spanish Theatre in London – 12 to 25 June

The 5Th edition of FeSTeLón opens this month at John Lyon’s Theatre-City Lit. The festival has become increasingly popular since its launch in 2013. The productions are all performed in Spanish with English subtitles, which include several plays adapted from some of the classics from the Spanish Golden Age. Balenciaga at V&A: Shaping Fashion

The Victoria and Albert Museum is launching a retrospective exhibition examining the work of the famous Spanish designer Cristóbal Balenciaga. Balenciaga was one of the most influential designers of the 20th century and according to Christian Dior was  “the master of us all.” This is the first time his collection has been shown in the UK and the exhibition opens tomorrow, Saturday, 27 May with around 100 pieces he designed in the 1950s and 60s.
